Winning a blog contest

A great writing opportunity has come up: Are you Moneyville's next blogger? I love reading about finance, so it's only natural I would want to write about it. For the last two weeks I have been brainstorming ideas to come up with the winning blog post. The most difficult part is coming with a winning topic. At first I wanted to cover general topics like saving money on groceries, but I realized that a niche topic is key to winning the cost. This is a really exciting opportunity because I really enjoy reading and learning about finance; it would be a dream job to be able to write for the most prestigious newspaper in Canada, the Toronto Star, and write about at topic I love, finance. I have written three blog posts so far. The first two posts were too general, so I've given up on them. The third blog post I think is a winner. I'm going to spend the next week refining it. I want to ensure it has a killer opening to pull in the reader - wish me luck!
